How to Apply French Manicure

French manicure refers to a nail polishing style in which white nail polish is painted at the tip of the nails. The rest of the nail is painted a natural color. Sometimes, the rest of the nail is polished with beige or pink nail polish. A French manicure is most appropriate for people with nails of a moderate length.

Remember that giving a French manicure is not as easy as applying white polish on the tips of the nails. Giving a French manicure also requires following some rules to achieve the best effects, like prepping the nails first. This is done by taking off the old polish with the use of an acetone. After removing the old nail polish, it is then best to cut the nails or trim them until the ideal length for a French manicure is achieved.

After cleaning and trimming the nails, a base coat has to be applied. This is a natural nail polish color that is supposed to be applied evenly. Also, the base coat has to be thin. After that, you can choose whether to apply a natural nail polish as a second coating, or a pink or beige second coating. This will be the main color of the French manicure, because the next step is to apply the French tips or the white nail polish on the tip of the nails.

The French tips should be kept thin and dry. Applying thin French tips is the best way to give a French manicure, because when the white tips are applied on a wide space, the whole set of nails will look chunky.

After this, the final step is to apply beige or natural color nail polish on the whole length of the nails. This is to make sure that the white tips won't be scraped off and will last.

There are French manicure sets on the market for people who cannot master the art of French manicure.
